This trio of vehicles are powered by the familiar 2.2-litre turbodiesel engine which supplies 103kW and 320 Nm of torque. This engine is nicely paired with a 6-speed automatic gearbox which allows for a powerful yet smooth driving experience.

These impressive 4x4s are built for the bush, and I’ve had my fair share of joy taking these on adventures. The Dusk, Dawn and Storm have the following add-ons included:
- Bundu front and rear off-road bumpers.
- Roller bars with a secure roller shutter cover.
- 16” alloy all-terrain tyres.
- Automatically activated safety hazard lights.
- The attractive wrapping, depending on the choice between Dusk, Dawn and Storm.
- An enhanced off-road suspension which enhances performance on all terrains.
All of these features are additions to the stock qualities coming from the already great Karoo series.

What you need to earn?
The following formula will allow us to calculate what the monthly minimum payments would be for the Mahindra Dusk.
Car price – R624 999
Payment term – 84months
Interest –11.75%
Deposit – 0%
Balloon – 40%
Extras – No optional extras
Based on this, buyers will need to spend at least R8,799 per month to take home the Dusk.
Financial experts then recommend that you do not spend more than 20% of your gross monthly salary on vehicle payments.
This means South Africans interested in owning the Dusk will need to earn at least R44 000 per month to be able to “afford” the vehicle.
Note that this figure does not account for insurance and fuel which all need to be factored into your budget.
