A few months back, Mahindra launched the XUV “seven double oh”. I really enjoy this spirited SUV which has been jammed with the latest bells and whistles and delivers the full SUV experience and then some.

Sporting the new “Twin-Peaks” badge on its bonnet, the XUV700 indicates the direction and intent Mahindra is set to take in the South African market.

As I approached the XUV700, the pop-out door handles gracefully invited me inside. Inside the XUV700 I was greeted by the stunning sight of not just one, but two spacious 26cm digital screens.

These cutting-edge screens offer a world of customization, providing seamless integration with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. What’s more, the climate control system stands out with its dedicated controls, separate from the touch screen interface.

I was captivated by the flagship AX7L model, boasting a mind-blowing audio experience. With a total of 12 immersive 3D Sony speakers, every journey will be a concert on wheels.

Safe and Sound.

Inside the XUV700 I felt cocooned by a comprehensive system of seven airbags. This robust safety measure ensures all-around protection for you and your precious passengers.

But that’s not all. The XUV700 goes the extra mile in safeguarding your journey. With a structurally reinforced chassis, this SUV provides an additional layer of security, ensuring maximum protection for your most valuable cargo.

I felt at ease knowing the ADAS Front Collision warning system is present in this SUV, which would’ve alerted me of potential hazards ahead. Additionally, the ADAS adaptive cruise control feature which enhances the driving experience by automatically adjusting the vehicle’s speed to maintain a safe distance from the vehicle ahead.

Unmistakable Power

Beneath the bonnet of the XUV700 is the heart of the performance. I was impressed by a robust 2.0-litre mStallion turbo-petrol engine, meticulously crafted to deliver an exhilarating driving experience. I was thrilled as it unleashed a remarkable 149kW of power, coupled with an impressive 380Nm of torque.

To complement the impressive engine, every variant of the XUV700 is equipped with Mahindra’s seamless six-speed automatic transmission. This well-engineered transmission effortlessly synchronizes with the engine, ensuring smooth and responsive gear shifts, this allowed me to experience the true essence of driving pleasure.
